Partner spotlight

Uepi Island Resort.

Family-run, dive-led, on the edge of one of the most extraordinary lagoon systems on the planet.

The short version. Uepi Island Resort sits on the edge of Marovo Lagoon, in Western Province, Solomon Islands. Marovo is widely cited as the largest saltwater lagoon in the world enclosed by a double-barrier reef system. Uepi has been operated as a family-run dive and eco resort for decades and is on our shortlist as a launch partner for the platform [1, 2].

1. The setting

Marovo Lagoon stretches roughly 150 kilometres along the northern side of New Georgia, hemmed in by a double-barrier reef and dotted with hundreds of small islands. UNESCO has had Marovo on the World Heritage tentative list, recognising its scale and biodiversity [2]. Uepi sits at the lagoon's northern entrance, with reef walls within swimming distance of the property.

2. Why Uepi for the platform

Three reasons. First, the property's identity is dive-and-eco-aligned, which means our cohort positioning lands without translation. Second, Marovo as a setting is unrivalled in the country for the kind of three-day reef-survey or coral-nursery programming we want to combine with a five-star stay. Third, the operator's history of small-cohort, repeat-guest hosting is exactly the operational profile we need to launch a credible product without the lodge over-promising.

3. What a Uepi-anchored journey looks like

Five to seven nights at Uepi, paired with a structured three-to-four-day conservation programme through one of our partner projects in the Marovo Lagoon area. The conservation work happens in the morning, with the rest of the day on the reef, in a kayak, or on the property. The pace is intentionally unhurried.

4. Partnership terms with the platform

Standard agency rate to Uepi's published rates plus a 12% margin on top of accommodation. Soft launch terms apply to the first cohort: zero take rate from the platform on the first five bookings. All guests prepaid in full at booking, weekly reconciliation, payouts via Wise or bank transfer, no exclusivity. Standard terms for a partner we expect to work with for years rather than months.
